This is the main train station of Cairo.
Though we got to see the day to day operation of the station, we were guarded by a cordon of security officers.
This is our first class air conditioned car. Second class is four seats across and may or may not have air conditioning. Third class cars are shown later.

Stop at an acheological site in the middle of the city. This is the Roman amphitheater at Kom El-Dikka ("mound of rubble"), the only one in Egypt.

Entrance gate to the Montazah Gardens. We had lunch at a hotel here, then explored a little.
We had lunch at this hotel, which overlooks the Al Montazah palace complex - a former palace of King Farouk, who was overthrown in the Egyptian Revolution of 1952.

Qait Bay Fortress. We stopped here for half an hour or so. Some of the stones used to build it are supposedly from the ancient Alexandria lighthouse, which stood on this point.
